Prince George’s County Extends Business Certification Validity from One Year to Two Years
On June 4, 2024, Council Bill CB-012-2024 was introduced to amend various provisions of Subtitle 10A - Purchasing. One key provision of the amendment was extending the length of Prince George’s County Government business certifications. Extending the certification period for County-based businesses will make the certification/recertification process less cumbersome and better aligns with local jurisdiction certification programs.
Pursuant to Sec. 10A-163(c), effective August 9, 2024, all County-based business certifications will now be valid for a two-year period. This includes the following certification categories:
- County-Based Minority Business Enterprise (CBMBE)
- County-Based Small Business (CBSB)
- County-Based Business (CBB)
Additionally, all businesses are highly encouraged to maintain updated contact information under their vendor profile in our Certification and Compliance System (CCS). County certified businesses that wish to update their North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code(s) can do so at any time by emailing SDDD@co.pg.md.us.
