Property & Clothes Exchange
When an incarcerated individual is processed into the Correctional Center, all personal items, except court papers, are taken from the individual. No packages or books will be accepted into the facility, but inmates have access to a Commissary, pleasure library, law library and religious materials once they are classified out of Intake Housing.
The Prince George’s County Department of Corrections allows an incarcerated individual to exchange personal clothing for court purposes. An incarcerated individual is allowed only one exchange per calendar year unless court ordered. To exchange clothing, the incarcerated individual must complete a Property Exchange Form at least 24 hours in advance of the exchange. Court clothing, such as church or business-wear, is acceptable. Jeans sneakers, work boots and sweatpants are not allowed for exchanges.
