Flip the Script on Aging Senior Information Fair.

May 8, 2025, Camp Springs, MD -  The Department of Family Services in partnership with Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission hosted over 450 older adults at the Flip the Script on Aging Senior Information Fair. The Annual May is Older Americans Month celebration provides an opportunity for older residents to engage with various County agencies, local non-profits and community stakeholders that provide services and resources for seniors. 

This year's May is Older Americans Month theme: "Flip the Script on Aging" encourages a shift in how society perceives and interacts with older adults. The goal is to move away from negative perceptions about aging and encourage a more positive outlook on aging with emphasis on the ongoing value and contributions older adults play in their communities. Older Americans Month is a time for recognition and discussions on how planning, participation, accessibility, and making connections all play a role in helping seniors age in place.
