Farmers Markets

Prince George's County has many farmer's markets all over the county. These markets offer a variety of things, like fresh fruits and vegetables, canned fruits and veggies, meats, dairy products, ready-to-eat foods, and arts and crafts. This guide is here to tell you about the different types of food you can find at these local farmer's markets.

Required Permits & Licenses

You don't need a food service permit if you're selling whole and uncut raw produce, fresh herbs, or cottage foods. All other foods require one of the following:

Label

All products sold in Maryland must have a label that contains the name and address of the producer or distributor, a quantity statement (count, fluid measurement, or net weight, depending on the product), and the identity of the product.
