Cleaning Up Tree Limbs and Other Storm Debris in Prince George’s County
Place it curbside for Monday yard trim and food scraps collection

LARGO, MD—Some neighborhoods in Prince George’s County may be clearing away fallen tree limbs and other storm debris following Friday’s severe weather. Residents are reminded to place this debris at the curb for regular Monday collection. Only residents receiving County-collected trash and recycling services can participate in the yard trim collection and should have their items at the curb by 6 a.m.

Yard trim includes tree branches, limbs, grass clippings, leaves, small branches, brush, and Christmas trees (from December through January). Limbs must not exceed 4 feet in length and 3 inches in diameter and must be securely tied in bundles.

Residents are reminded that plastic bags are no longer accepted in yard trim collection. Residents should place their yard trim loose in a collection can, use large yard paper bags, a trash can marked "Yard Trim" or "Yard Waste," or the County-issued 32-gallon organics wheeled green cart.

Food scraps are also collected and can be co-mingled with yard trim through the PGC Composts program. Food-related items must be placed in the County-issued 32-gallon wheeled green cart.

Additionally, residents with a large amount of yard trim debris can drop it off at the Brown Station Road Drop-off Convenience Center at 3501 Brown Station Road, Upper Marlboro, MD, Monday through Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
