Waste Collection

County curbside waste collection pickup begins at *6 a.m. Residents should have their items at the curb to avoid a missed collection. Curbside collection includes:

  • trash
  • yard trim
  • compost
  • recycling
  • bulky trash
  • electronics and scrap metal (by appointment only)

Discover the waste collection programs that help keep the curb clear and maintain a clean, healthy, and sustainable County.

*Beat the Heat!

Residents of Prince George's County receiving County-contracted curbside waste collection services will have an earlier collection start time.  Effective June 30 through September 30, County haulers will begin collecting compost, trash, and recycling at 5 a.m. Residents living in a municipality should check with their waste management office for any changes to their collection schedule. This slight shift in service will help the crews complete their routes before the most intense heat of the day, aiding in their safety and comfort. Residents are reminded that haulers have until 8 p.m. to pick up curbside waste on their regular collection day. Missed collections can be reported starting at noon on collection day.
