County Waste Facilities To Close Early January 19
Brown Station Road Sanitary Landfill remains open but remaining facilities to close at 1 p.m.
LARGO, MD – The Prince George’s County Department of the Environment announces the 1 p.m. early closure of the Brown Station Road Public Convenience Center and the Organics Composting Facility in Upper Marlboro, the Missouri Avenue Public Convenience Center in Brandywine, and the Materials Recycling Facility in Capitol Heights due to inclement weather.
Services located at the Brown Station Road Sanitary Landfill, including acceptance sites, remain open for regular operation hours today; and will continue to be monitored. Normal business hours are in effect for all facilities tomorrow, Saturday, January 20.
The following waste collection services and facilities are impacted, Friday, January 19, 2024, due to road and weather-related conditions:

Cancelled Monday, January 22, 2024 Regular collections resume Monday, January 29, 2024 |
Yard trim and food scrap composting collections are canceled for Monday, January 22, so that haulers can service any missed collections from this week. Regular trash and recycling schedules will resume Tuesday, January 23. Regular composting collections will resume Monday, January 29.
Residents with scheduled Friday collections and missed collections from this week are reminded to leave their trash and recycling collection containers at the curbside, and that pickup can occur anytime from 6:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
