Prince George’s County Suspends Curbside Waste Collection Services
for Tuesday, Jan. 7
Regular collections will resume on Wednesday, Jan. 8, on a slide schedule
LARGO, MD—Due to weather and road-related conditions, the Prince George’s County Department of the Environment will suspend all residential bulky, trash, and recycling curbside collections on Tuesday, Jan. 7. All waste collections will resume on Wednesday, Jan. 8, operating on a slide schedule and ending on Saturday, Jan. 11, weather permitting. The curbside waste collection schedule will be as follows:
- Regular Tuesday, Jan. 7 collections slide to Wednesday, Jan. 8
- Regular Wednesday, Jan. 8 collections slide to Thursday, Jan. 9
- Regular Thursday, Jan. 9 collections slide to Friday, Jan. 10
- Regular Friday, Jan. 10 collections slide to Saturday, Jan. 11
Residents are reminded that waste collections may experience slight delays or additional suspensions due to road or weather-related conditions within neighborhoods once collections resume. They are also reminded to leave their collection containers at the curb. Collection pickups can occur from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Every effort will be made to complete collection service routes.
In addition, all bulky, scrap tires or white goods scheduled for collection on Tuesday, Jan. 7, will be rescheduled.
The Brown Station Road Sanitary Landfill, 11611 White House Road, the Prince George’s County Organics Composting Facility at 6550 Maude Savoy Brown Road, and the Brown Station Road Residential Convenience Center at 3501 Brown Station Road, all in Upper Marlboro, the Missouri Avenue Solid Waste Acceptance and Recycling Center at 12701 Missouri Avenue in Brandywine, and the Materials Recycling Facility at 1000 Ritchie Road in Capitol Heights will reopen to the public on Tuesday, Jan. 7 at 10:00 a.m. on a delayed schedule.
